New York City

One of the most celebrated cities in the world, we all love a bite of the Big Apple. Star of so many movies, everywhere you look it’s iconic – from the bright lights of Times Square to the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Central Park.

The city that never sleeps buzzes with culture of every kind: art, music, theatre, film, food, architecture, fashion. Iconic buildings like the Flatiron, Oculus and Chrysler are the backdrop to city life, and an afternoon in the MoMa or Guggenheim will inspire you for days.

But it’s the people that make it so special, a melting pot of so many different cultures with nearly half of NYC’s residents born outside the USA. New Yorkers are proud of their rich heritage and campaigning history. New York was at the heart of the fight for northern Civil Rights against segregation in 1964 and in 1969 the Stonewall uprising heralded the first Pride the following year.
